Who are we?

Pippo Association was established on December 9, 2011 by Marcello Passalia.
Marcello Passalia was born in Milan, Italy but has lived in Denmark for 10 years.
The idea to establish Pippo Association came from Marcello´s experience with having a premature child. Marcello´s son Filippo is a premature child who has overcome a lot of challenges from being born to early. He was born in 2004 weighing just 1400 grams. Today he is 8 years old and after years with many surgeries and challenges, he is a living example of a true fighter. The name Pippo Association is short for Filippo and it´s a dedication to his name.

What do we do?

Marcello makes events on behalf of Pippo Association where he has put together personalities from the worlds of music, sports, art and their support is fundamental in order to organize events that will be talked about – with the intention to awake focus on premature children and raise money for the association. Pippo Association is a 100 % non-profit Danish association. The money raised for Pippo Association primarily comes from the events that Marcello makes. Two times a year Marcello makes events where he personally donates all or a percentage to Pippo Association. This money will be 100% for premature children and their families. With time it´s also possible that Pippo Association will make events directly for the children and their families where they can come together with other similar children and families to exchange experiences. Who can supply?

Every year 4500 children are born to early in Denmark. Fortunately a lot of these children will have a normal life with no disabilities. How ever a great part of these children will grow up with lifelong developmental disabilities such as visions problems, hearing problems, spasticity or other physical disabilities – also psychological.
There are various very good associations for premature children and their families who primarily informs, guides and supports with their knowledge within premature issues.
Pippo Association wishes to support premature children and their families more directly – and the association addresses families with special needs. Having a premature child can be an overwhelming and a shocking experience for the entire family – also for siblings. All these families can supply for financial support – regardless of income. Pippo Association primarily wishes to financially support the applicants where the donation will make a positive difference for the premature child and it´s family. Maybe the family needs to buy equipment for their premature child or maybe they would like to apply for a financial contribution for a much needed vacation after a long and challenging period with their premature child. There can be a lot of different reasons. Applications for financially donations can be send to the Pippo Association board.
